The Battery Monitoring System BEN OM01, consisting of Battery Monitoring Unit and Balancer Board, enables real-time monitoring and analysis of battery data such as voltage, temperature and state of charge to provide precise insights into battery performance. Over 10,000 installed systems safeguard critical applications in the renewable energy sector.

Battery monitoring unit
Item no.: 4260629980145
The battery monitoring unit is a powerful BMS master computing unit and PROFINET gateway in one and offers a modular, flexible software architecture.
In addition to monitoring and controlling the battery pack, the BMU calculates and monitors all parameters and makes them available to a PROFINET IO controller as system-relevant data that could not previously be retrieved in conventional lead-acid battery applications.

Balancer Board
Item no.: 4260629980060
Slave balancer modules integrated in the battery pack ensure proper operation, measure voltage and temperature and ensure balancing of the cells.
The balancer boards were developed for integrated fixed installation within a battery pack. They ensure that the state of charge is balanced between individual cells and are used to monitor the voltages and operating temperatures of the cells in order to detect critical conditions. This ensures the safe operation of the battery pack. Communication with the battery monitoring unit (BMU) takes place in a daisy chain via the isoSPI communication interface.
Balancer Board - Top Features
- Data acquisition of up to 18 battery cell voltages and 4 temperature sensors
- Compensation of battery cell voltage differences (balancing) with up to 100 mA
- Daisy chain isoSPI communication to the BMU and the other balancers
